Edmonton go down 14-2 against Wenatchee to start road series

WENATCHEE, WA—The Edmonton Riverhawks have seen their West Coast League winning streak snapped at seven. The Riverhawks opened up a weekend series against the AppleSox in Wenatchee by dropping a 14-2 decision to the WCL North Division first half winners. 

The AppleSox improves to 20-8 on the year while the Riverhawks fall to 14-13. 

This contest was the seventh of 2026 between these two squads. The AppleSox now holds a 5-2 lead in the series.

Wenatchee scored 14 runs on 11 hits while committing one error. They scored three times in the first, added two more in the second and third innings, one in the fourth and added six runs in the fifth inning. The Riverhawks scored a run in the fourth and another one in the ninth.

#49 Cole Huebner started and was the losing pitcher for Edmonton. Huebner (0-1) went two and a third innings, surrendering seven runs on six hits. He walked three and struck out two. Huebner was the first of five Hawks pitchers.

#24 Cale Clark was 1 for 3 with a run batted in. #51 Easton Andrews went 2 for 3 with a run scored. #39 Chris Parkinwas 0 for 3 with an RBI.

Easton Brooks, the second of four AppleSox pitchers picked up his first win of the season. Brooks tossed a four hitter. He gave up one run and had four strikeouts.

Offensively, Wenatchee second baseman Raphael Dunne was 2 for 5 with five runs batted in and scored three times. Dunne hit a grand slam in the six run fifth. Landon White was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.

The two teams will go at it again Saturday (July 4). Opening pitch at Paul Thomas Senior Stadium will be 6:35 PM PST (7:35 PM MST) as the U.S.A. celebrates its 250th birthday.

Next home game for the Riverhawks is Tuesday, July 7th when they entertain the Nanaimo NightOwls at RE/MAX Field. It is Corporate Hooky Day: Office Olympics Edition. The first pitch is 1:05 PM MST.
