RE/MAX Field opened in 1995 in the heart of Edmonton’s River Valley and Rossdale community—a neighbourhood known for its long tradition of gathering. The Edmonton Riverhawks, therefore, acknowledge that our team lives, works, and plays on Treaty 6 Territory, and we thank the Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors’ footsteps first marked this land thousands of years ago. They include the Cree, Dene, Stoney, Saulteaux, Blackfoot Peoples, the Métis Nation of Alberta Region Four, and a large community of Inuit.
Before we (the Riverhawks) made our debut, RE/MAX Field was home to the AAA Edmonton Trappers, who competed in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) until 2004. In 2022, the Riverhawks then became the first Alberta team in the West Coast League (WCL), a premier summer collegiate league, competing against teams across British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon.
Owned by 30 Edmontonians who have a passion for shared community, our organization follows a fan‑first, fun‑first mentality that helps us bring thousands of fans to the ballpark each game. In fact, we’ve set the WCL season attendance record four years in a row, welcoming more than 140,000 friends to RE/MAX Field (capacity 9,200) in 2026!
At the Riverhawks we’re about more than just baseball—we create a new theme and experience every single game, providing fun and inclusive entertainment that everyone can enjoy! Some of our iconic in-game challenges such as Chowdown and Dizzy Bat, our iconic mascots River & Kid, and our well-known bat dog Iceman keep the wacky energy going all game long.
So, join us at the ballpark every summer for some of the best entertainment, hot dogs, and prices in Edmonton!
