WCL 2023 Schedule Released!
Hawks Open on Road; Start at Home June 13!
The Edmonton Riverhawks will kick off their second season in the West Coast League with a long road trip south of the border.
The WCL released its 2023 schedule today and it has the Hawks slated to play their first game next year June 2 in Bellingham, Washington. That will be the first of nine games on the road.
The boys of summer return home to welcome fans to RE/MAX Field for the first time in 2023 on Tuesday, June 13. That will kick off a three game home stand against the Kamloops NorthPaws, to be followed by another three game set, this time with the Nanaimo NightOwls. The later start at home for the Riverhawks will increase the odds of great weather for baseball fans.
The Hawks will complete their 27 games at home with a six game home stand that will run from August 1 to August 6. The home town crowd could make a huge difference for the boys if they find themselves in another playoff race. Last season they lost in Victoria on the last day of the season which left them just a half game out of a playoff spot.
The highlight on the calendar for many will be the Canada Day Game, which comes on a Saturday this coming July 1. If you can't make that event and see the fabulous fireworks, there will be four other occasions for Friday Night Fireworks, which quickly became a huge hit in the Riverhawks inaugural year.
The Riverhawks are planning a fun twist on the Friday Night Fireworks in 2023. The promotions teams is busy building fun themes for all the games, once again. The promotional schedule will be shared as soon as it's ready.
Tickets will also go on sale shortly. We are already excited by the prospect of welcoming fans back to the diamond in the river valley next year!
