Cap On Sensational Season!

Fans Send Hawks to New Heights!
The 2024 Edmonton Riverhawks season has come to a close leaving both players and fans reflecting on a sensational season.
The fans gave the West Coast League notice of what to expect when more than 6-thousand showed up for the Home Opener way back on June 7.
The people came for the parties all summer long and stayed to watch some great baseball. They absolutely packed RE/MAX Field on Canada Day, recording a sellout crowd of 9,071 fans, setting a single game attendance record in the WCL. It also left many wondering if that was the biggest crowd ever in the ballpark in the river valley (we could not confirm that!).
The fans went on to break the WCL record for season attendance they set in 2023, as almost 117 thousand people went through the turnstiles over the 27 home games. They loved the theme nights, like Baseball Goes Bollywood, and the kooky contests, like the 'pivot race,' based upon the famous scene in Friends. They also fell in love with the team's new bat retrieving dog, Ice Man!
On the field, the Riverhawks did their part, tying for first place in the first half of the schedule. They secured a playoff spot late in the season, and celebrated with a 3-1 win at home in front of almost 8-thousand fans in the team's first ever playoff game. While Edmonton ultimately fell to Bellingham in that series, it did not take away from the crazy, great year it has been.
Thank you to all the players who chose to come to Edmonton for to play this great sport, and to all the fans who packed the stands for the outstanding games and wonderful fun.
