The Edmonton Riverhawks and Alley Kat Brewing have signed a deal to make the popular local brewery the exclusive beer provider at RE/MAX Field. This is the first time an Edmonton sports venue will offer only craft beer.

"We are thrilled to enter into this landmark agreement with the Riverhawks," says the owner of Alley Kat, Cam French. "This will resonate with the growing number of beer drinkers who love their craft beer."

Riverhawks Managing Director Dr. Randy Gregg emphasizes the organization loves to support other local companies. "We want to shop local whenever possible and support great companies like Alley Kat. It makes so much sense on so many levels. There are economic spinoffs all the way down the line to Alberta farmers, who produce the ingredients to make such great beers."

"We have been advocating for years to get access to sports venues," adds the head of the Alberta Small Brewers Association, Blair Berdusco. "The Riverhawks opened their doors immediately last year during their inaugural season with their Craft Corner. This takes that commitment to a whole new level. We encourage owners and operators in other venues to look at this partnership and consider what they can do, too, to support local craft beer."

Alley Kat will be available on tap at all concessions as well as in cans throughout the stadium. The Riverhawks will also maintain their Craft Corner so fans can try additional local craft products through collaboration brews with companies such as Analog Brewing, Town Square Brewing, Polyrhythm Brewing and The Growlery.

This partnership will add to the Riverhawks reputation of staging the most fun, affordable entertainment in a gorgeous setting in the river valley.

The Riverhawks begin their second season at RE/MAX Field on June 13, which kicks off 27 home games of fun, concluding Sunday, August 6.
