Rebound-Ready Riverhawks Can Reset Road Series with Lefties

2022-08-03

August 3 Game Preview

By Cody Schmidt

After a disappointing loss last night, the Edmonton Riverhawks will do their best to bounce back against the Port Angeles Lefties. Done-in by some errors and a couple Lefties rallies there was only so much that the Hawks could do to come back to try and win. They still amounted for 10 hits in the game, the same as Port Angeles scored, the timing just didn’t line up to push runs across the plate.

With both the Hawks and the AppleSox losing last night, the playoff picture remains the same as before, with the Riverhawks aiming to surge ahead and take the North Division lead. The HarbourCats have narrowed the gap between first and second place, and slipped ahead of the Bellingham Bells, meaning that the next opponent for the Hawks will be in direct competition for that division lead.

With things tight in the second half, batters will need to keep the bats hot to back up Brady Kobitowich. Brady makes his second start of the year, as he has mostly been used as a bullpen arm through the season. While Brady has never stayed in longer than 4 innings this season, he should be able to carry the team through the first few innings before handing it over to the rest of the arm barn. With a 4.45 ERA over 32.1 innings, Kobitowich has 30 Ks in 30 appearances.

Your Hawks lineup for tonight:

1- #10 Clayton Loranger - LF

2- #11 Kelly Corl - SS

3- #25 Tom Poole - 3B

4- #17 Emiliano Gonzalez - 2B

5- #33 Alex Stinnett - C

6- #38 Jack Gurevitch - DH

7- #24 Will Gardner - RF

8- #41 Brad Jolley - 1B

9- #3 Aaron Stinnett - CF

P- #23 Brady Kobitowich
