What would have been an otherwise empty baseball stadium magically came to life on Monday morning when we welcomed evacuated families that have been displaced from their communities due to the Canadian wildfires up North.

It was an honour and a privilege to provide these families with an afternoon full of fun and laughs amidst the unthinkable situation they are currently facing. Bouncy castles, slip-n-slides, lawn games, and an impromptu baseball game quickly turned RE/MAX Field into quite the little party! Complimented by a magical performance by comedian Spandy Andy, the afternoon quickly turned into an experience to remember.

We would like to send a massive thank you to our amazing local partners who are always so willing to step up at a moment’s notice to support events such as this! Our friends from Boston Pizza Northern Alberta generously provided a free pizza lunch to all of the families in attendance while Booster Juice handed out free smoothie gift certificates to all. Hockey Edmonton also jumped into action and brought out their electronic shooting machine for families to test out their hockey skills ahead of the upcoming winter months! We wouldn’t be able to continually build community without the support of these essential partners.

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help us stage a day where these deserving families could take a brief moment out of a stressful time in their lives for a few hours of fun and play!
