Barbie Night Anchors Week Long Party!
2023-07-28
E Bike Giveaway, Talus Balls Jerseys Auction & More!
The hottest thing in movie theatres winds its way down to the ballpark Tuesday night as the Edmonton Riverhawks celebrate Barbie Night! It is the first of six sensational parties as the Hawks stage their last home stand of the 2023 season.
Barbie Night Tuesday, August 1
We want to see everyone pretty in pink down at our diamond in the river valley. Anyone dressed from head to toe in pink will get a free ticket at the Box Office, as will anyone named Barbara or Ken (with the i.d. to back it up!). We'll also have all sorts of Barbie giveaways and video clips from the movie to enjoy while we watch the Hawks take on the Port Angeles Lefties.
It's also a Toonie Tuesday when you can buy a second grandstand ticket for just $2. We'll also have $2 Junior Dogs and $2 waters.
This is also a night when we thank some of our greatest supporters - our billet families, who take in our collegiate ball players and show them how great the people are here in the capital region and beyond.
Irish Night Wednesday, August 2
The Mattierin Dancers will get us in the Celtic Spirit as we get set to have fun with the Irish Sports and Social Society! Green beer is on tap and U2 will blare through the speakers as we celebrate the island nation. We might also have to have some fans try their hands at Gaelic Football!
Of course, every Wednesday we guarantee a win! If the Hawks come up short, we'll flip you a grandstand ticket to the next game.
Home Run Wishes Thursday, August 3, with Oodle Noodle
The next game brings us to Home Run Wishes with Oodle Noodle. Some Edmontonians, like Jay Downton of Oilers Nation, wish to hit the ball out of the park at RE/MAX Field. He and eleven challengers will try to do just that in a Home Run Derby after the game, with bragging rights and juicy Oodle Noodle gift certificates on the line. Oilers Play by Play Announcer Cam Moon will bring his flame thrower to the ballpark to toss pitches to the batters.
On this night we'll also focus of the deserving kids with the Make A Wish Foundation and raise money to help their dreams come true.
And because it's Thirsty Thursday, we'll have specials on beer and pop!
Christmas Comes Early on a Fireworks Friday with Uncle John's, August 4
Santa, the Grinch, Olaf and more will be at RE/MAX Field as Christmas Comes Early! Bring a present for Santa's Anonymous and, in turn, we'll enter your name into a draw for a killer Riverhawks prize pack.
Plus, we'll have all sorts of gifts for fans to take home, including our highly sought after Talus Balls jerseys! We've listened to the demands of our fans and we're putting them on the auction block to generate some cash for Santa's.
Plus, we'll wrap the night up with a spectacular light show courtesy Uncle John's Fireworks. John has carved out an impressive reputation with his fireworks at the end of the week and he promises this will be his best show ever with the Riverhawks!
Super Heroes Saturday, August 5, with Global Television
Super Heroes take centre stage Saturday, as Superman, Batman and more pose for pictures, sing the anthem and play with kids. Kids dressed as super heroes get in free and can join the group heading out to the mound for the ceremonial first pitch.
That group will include our real life super heroes: doctors, nurses, and other health care workers on the front lines. We encourage them to sport their scrubs and, if they do, they're welcome to join that group on the bump. Those front line workers are eligible to receive a free ticket at the Box Office as well as 50% off a ticket for a guest!
This is also the night you can go to the Box Office to redeem any unused tickets from the second half of the season.
Wheels in Motion with Bike Edmonton on Fan Appreciation Day by RE/MAX Sunday, August 6
We wrap up our season Sunday with Wheels in Motion with Bike Edmonton on Fan Appreciation Day presented by RE/MAX! Ride your bike to the game and receive 50% off an adult grandstand ticket! We'll see wheels of all types as we give away prizes every half inning, including an E Bike, mini scooter and mini ATV from RCM Motorsports in St. Albert.
We'll begin the day with the barbershop quartet Grove City Chorus singing the anthem and finish it with the Oil City Sound Machine playing a live concert, as we party on and thank all our fans for all they've done for us.
Come on down and play with us - we're going to have a ton of fun in the last week of the regular season!!!
