Return of the Talus Balls!
2023-06-26
Fun this Week: Balls, Fireworks, Taylor Swift & More!
The popular Talus Balls return to RE/MAX Field this week as part of a home stand that will feature all sorts of fun.
Tuesday Night we have our Delayed Dad's Day game presented by RE/MAX. The game will feature yet another new theme jersey, this time a retro plaid number with a silouhette of a father with a little girl and a little boy. A limited run of the jerseys will be on the auction block on the concourse (that will be our sixth different jersey in six home games!). The retro theme will feature the Grove City Chorus barbershop quartet and Ray Fowler driving onto the field in one of his vintage cars.
Our Retro Father's Day is also a Toonie Tuesday, when you can buy a second grandstand ticket for just $2. We'll also have $2 hot dogs and $2 waters!
Wednesday we thank the TSN 1260 team for all they've done for us ... and have a whole lot of fun in the process. All your favourites - Dusty Nielson, Lieutenant Eric, Lowe Tide, J-Mo and more - will be in attendance so we can salute them for all they've done for sport in this city.
Did we mention it's also Winning Wednesday? If we don't beat the Bellingham Bells that night, everyone goes home with a free grandstand ticket for the next night!
And the next night we bring in hundreds of Special Olympians for Thirsty Thursday! They'll lead us in all the fun and games, while people enjoy $5 draft beer!
The snazzily dressed Talus Balls return to the diamond Friday, as the boys host Wenatchee on our Girls Rock & Taylor Swift Dance Party Night! We're welcoming anyone who's sporting a shimmering look onto the mound for the first pitch. We think they'd also be perfect leading some dance contests, too, before we take to the field post game for a lot of Taylor Swift songs!
Saturday is Canada Day presented by 630 CHED. Need we say more?! The joint will be jumping as we give away a lot of sweet prizes, including a beauty from our friends at ArrKann Trailer. We'll celebrate almost one hundred new Canadians being sworn in as new citizens on the field before the game. Then, after the game, we'll party with the Brasstactics on the field until the fireworks are set off at 11pm!
We'll recover in time for Sunday and some Filipino Fun with Ina Raymundo, who just happens to be the mother of one of our players AND is a mega star in the island nation. Ina will get the crowd up and moving as we celebrate Edmonton's massive Filipino community!
Come on down to any game - or all of them! We're going to have a raucous time at each and every party!!!
