Matinees then Street Performers, 1st Responders & Player Cards!
Exciting Weekend Ahead for Fans!
We begin play this week with a couple of matinee exhibition games Wednesday and Thursday against the Alberta U18 squad. The 1pm start times are perfect for families looking for something to do or for business people looking to duck out of the office early! We'll have fun events planned throughout the games before we give way to some fantastic themes on the weekend.
Friday night we celebrate the start of the Street Performers Festival with breakdancers, jugglers, stilt walkers and a Cirque du Soleil inspired group. The Jasper Place High School Pom team will be on the scene to get our fans revved up. Oh, did we mention it's Friday Night Fireworks?!
Saturday we gear up for the extravaganza known as First Responders Night! Our heroes from the front lines take a well deserved break to come have fun at the ballpark. Members from the police, fire and ambulance services will take to the turf for all kinds of zany fun, including a tug of war. There will be very cool vehicles on display out front - and the kids can crawl all over them - before a spectacular opening ceremony. We have inside sources telling us Fire Chief Joe Zatylny has been training hard to defend his title in the potato sack race!
Boston Pizza serves up something special Sunday, offering all sorts of goodies for BP locations across the capital region as well as Central and Northern Alberta. We'll hand out five $100 gift certificates as well as BP coupons for every fan in attendance. Plus, Save on Foods player cards will be available after the game, as the Riverhawks sit at tables on the field and sign cards for all the kids. Plus, we're going to have a very cool visit from our friends from El Salvador and spectacular performances from the DanceCo dance academy!
