    Hot Hawks Ready For Another In Wenatchee

    After 19 hits last night, the Riverhawks are ready to keep swinging

    The Edmonton Riverhawks look to start another winning streak as they meet up with the AppleSox in Wenatchee on Wednesday night (July 10). This is game two of their three game West Coast League series which saw Edmonton out-slug and outscore the AppleSox 13-11 last night. Edmonton evened their second half record at 2-2 (20-11) overall. The Riverhawks jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and held through a four-run bottom of the ninth surge by Wenatchee (now 22-12 on the year and 4-3 in the second half).#20 Max Benton collected his first win of the season coming out of the bull pen. He went 1.2 innings, walking two and striking out one. Benton was one of seven pitchers utilized by coach Nathan Coffin. #18 Riley Barrett collected his first save. He went an inning, striking out two, giving up two hits and two runs. Offensively, the Riverhawks were led by #3 Michael Soper was 4-6 with four runs batted in and three runs scored. # 54 Sam Kane was 5-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. #36 Jacob Poturnak was 2-3 with four runs scored and two runs batted in.Soper, Poturnak along with #32 Vicarte Domingo, #5 Bryce McFeely and #14 Tate Dearing were named to the North Division All-Star team for this months WCL All-Star contest in Bellingham, Washington.The pitching matchup in tonight’s tilt will be #29 Daniel Orfally (0-1) for Edmonton against Wenatchee’s # 32 Garrett Adhern (1-0). The game can be watched by logging onto https://wcleague.watch.pixellot.tv/. Opening pitch is 8:05 PM MST.The Riverhawks are on the road for five more games before returning to RE/MAX Field on Friday July 19th when the Springfield Drifters pay a visit.
