Riverhawks look to rebound against HarbourCats in Game 2

The Edmonton Riverhawks look to get back into the win column as they take on the Victoria HarbourCats in game two of their West Coast League series on Saturday. The two teams will do battle at Wilson’s Group Stadium. Opening pitch is 7:30 PM MDT.

The Riverhawks dropped a 6-5 decision to the HarbourCats on Friday. It was a game which saw Edmonton get two home runs.#54 Sam Kane and #51 Royce Hale hit round trippers.

Friday night’s contest saw Riverhawks reliever #21 Myles Chamberlain face a Victoria team which features his brother #37 Mason, who is also a pitcher.

The scheduled pitchers on Saturday are #48 Fernando Palencia (1-0) for the Riverhawks and #45 Payton Hawkinson (0-1) for Victoria.

Edmonton enters the contest with a combined 2024 record of 21-13. The HarbourCats are 17-17. The teams will play again Sunday (first pitch 2:00 PM MDT). Both tonight’s and tomorrow’s games can be watched online at https://wcleague.watch.pixellot.tv.

The Riverhawks will enter the WCL All-Star break after this weekend. They will have five reps: #3 Michael Soper (2nd base), Poturnak (3rd base), #5 Bryce McFeely (Outfield), #14 Tate Dearing and Domingo (both pitchers).
