Riverhawks Become the Talus Balls and Take On NightOwls

The start of a new series honours the Canadian Military and an Edmonton landmark

The Edmonton Riverhawks welcome the Nanaimo NightOwls back to RE/MAX Field for a three game weekend series. The Hawks ended up losing their last series with the the NorthPaws during the week, but the new series provides a new opportunity for the team. Tonight the Riverhawks also salute the Military, with featured guests from the armed forces and a very special first pitch delivery. The Hawks themselves will have their own camouflage on, disguised in jerseys commemorating and styled after an Edmonton landmark, the Talus Dome. Playing as the “Talus Balls”, the Edmonton squad will have a night of remembrance, and a night for fans to remember

The NightOwls come to Edmonton following a last game loss, but an overall series win against the Yakima Valley Pippins. Last season, the overall series was split 3-3 between the two teams, with each team taking the edge in their respective home series. The Hawks will look to repeat that trend at home, at least, as they claw their way back towards .500 on the year.

On the mound for the Talus Balls tonight is #23 Brady Kobitowich, and he’ll be joined by the foillowing lineup:
