Riverhawks can clam the series early while fans celebrate Pride

The Edmonton Riverhawks held a onslaught of runs against the Nanaimo NightOwls last night, and the will try and replicate that success today. It was a full team affair with the entire lineup getting on base, and a pair of commanding presences on the mound. With whole team banding together to best the NightOwls, its an example of how we can all come together to Strike Out Hate. Today at RE/MAX Field the focus will be on just that, along with MacEwan University's Centre for Sexual & Gender Diversity and Pride Tape.

We welcome everyone to the ballpark, and while the Hawks will be on the field giving it their all, there will be plenty of entertaining and illuminating events happening in the stands. With the strong start to the series against the NightOwls things are lined up for another great night at the park.

Leading the Hawks onto the field is the familiar face of #45 KJ Ward. This will be the first home start of the season for Ward, who won four games in front of the home crowd in 2022. KJ thrived at RE/MAX Field, aside from one blemish on his record where the Falcons chased him in the 2nd, Ward went at least 5.0 innings in every home start. In each home win KJ allowed one or less earned run, with the majority being 7.0 innings of scoreless ball
