Hawks Aim to Dent Bells, Balance Series

The underdog Riverhawks still have some opportunities to get wins off Bellingham

The season’s first half has not been kind to the Edmonton Riverhawks. Currently sitting with a 5-17 record, the Hawks have had their share of struggles, especially against the Bellingham Bells. The WCL’s top team has beat up on the Hawks in every matchup so far this year, with Edmonton only able to score 6 runs against the Bells in four games. After last night’s 10-3 loss the Riverhawks will try to stay resilient and bounce back with a big win, just like when they faced a similar loss in Nanaimo over the weekend.

Resiliency will be saluted across the ballpark, as the Hawks will also be welcoming the voices and personalities of TSN 1260. Edmonton’s beloved sports station was taken off the air earlier this season, and tonight everyone at RE/MAX field will voice their appreciation to the 1260 team for their years of insight and entertainment.

Yesterday’s main production came from the bottom of the lineup, #9 Skyler Chang, #2 Jack Wheatley, and #30 Noah Boughton each represented one of the Hawks’ three runs that crossed the plate. The 7, 8, and 9 hitters each also ended up on base twice, and gave some RBI opportunities to #15 Daniel Calabrese and #14 Tommy Takayoshi at the top of the order. We can hope for a continued surge from the back end of the lineup that boosts the big bats in the heart of the order.
