Riverhawks Win The Shootout With Kamloops On Country Night

The Edmonton Riverhawks scored five times in the first inning and rolled to their 19th victory of the West Coast League season. The Riverhawks hammered the Kamloops NorthPaws 13-3 on Saturday.
Sending 5,603 fans home happy on “Country Night” at RE/MAX Field, Edmonton pounded out 17 hits as they improved their record to 19-10. The NorthPaws fell to 8-20. The sixth inning saw the Riverhawks send nine men to the plate as they scored four times on four hits.
-The Riverhawks got two runs batted in a piece from #35 Jakob Poturnak, # 54 Sam Kane, #26 Russell Young and # 9 Mahidutt Tabata. Tabata and Young scored twice while Young plated once. Poturnak was 1-5, Tabata 1-3, Young 2-5, Kane and #1 Kaden Zarowny were 2-4.
#47 William Vasseur scored three times and went 2-3 at the plate.
-#38 David Stuart pitched two innings of one hit ball, striking out one to improve his record to 2-1. He was making his fourth appearance of the year. Stuart was the second of six Edmonton pitchers. Starter #48 Fernando Palencia pitched the first three innings, giving up five hits, three runs, striking out one and walking two. #19 Cade Johnson started for Kamloops and picked up the loss. He only went one inning but gave up five runs, three hits, and walked two. He is 0-3 in six appearances.
