    Hawks Keep Rolling as They Hit the Road

    An 8-3 win over the HarbourCats makes it four in a row for Edmonton

    VICTORIA, BC –

    The Edmonton Riverhawks have opened up a six game road swing to Vancouver Island with a victory. The Riverhawks scored twice in the second, fourth and eighth innings as they downed the Victoria HarbourCats 8-3 on Tuesday. The Riverhawks improved to 12-7 on the season, while Victoria falls to 11-11. So far in 2025 the Hawks have swept the season series with the HarbourCats.

    Edmonton scored single runs in the 3rd and 9th innings. Victoria scored a run in the 4th, 5th and 9th innings.

    #35 Trent Lenihan was 1-3 at the dish for Edmonton. He had two runs batted in including a solo homer to lead off the third inning. That was Lenihan’s second homer of the WCL season.

    #6 Robert Phelps was 0-2 with two runs batted in. #1 Shiryu Sato was 3-4 with three runs scored. Also contributing offensively for the Riverhawks was #42 Drew Veatch. Veatch was 1-3 with a run scored and a run batted in. # 38 David Krahn, playing his first game of the year with Edmonton was 0-3 with a run scored and a run batted in.

    #31 Riley Barrett started on the mound for the Riverhawks. He went 5.0 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and striking out two as he faced 18 batters. Both allowed hits were both home runs. Barrett was one of four Riverhawks pitchers and chalked up his first decision of 2025.

    The Riverhawks left 10 men on base compared to Victoria’s two. Edmonton scored eight runs on six hits with one error. The HarbourCats had three runs on three hits with three errors.

    The teams will continue their West Coast League series at Wilson’s Group Stadium tomorrow (June 25th) and Wednesday. Game time both days is 6:35 PM PST.

    Following those games, The Riverhawks will moves up Island to Nanaimo for three games against the Night Owls.

    Next home game for Edmonton is Tuesday, July 1st at RE/MAX Field, it’s the start of a three-game set with the Port Angeles Lefties. Opening pitch is 7:05 PM.
