Late inning heroics by the hometown Edmonton Riverhawks sent the 5003 fans at RE/MAX Field home happy this afternoon. The Riverhawks scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the visiting Port Angeles Lefties 3-2 in West Coast League action. 

#3 Michael Soper came up with one out and stroked a triple to score #6 Taichi Nakao. He earlier reached base on a fielders choice. Then with two out, #47 William Vasseur belted the ball into the outfield scoring Soper with the winning run. Soper was 2-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored. Vasseur wound up 3-5 with a run batted in.
-The Lefties scored both their runs in the third inning. Travis Helm was 2-4 with a run scored. Ethan Kodama was 1-3 with a run scored for Port Angeles.

-#33 Halen Knoll got the start on the mound for Edmonton. He went six innings giving up two runs on three hits. #40 Hayden Morrison, the fourth of four Riverhawk pitchers got the win, after covering the 9th. With one strike out. He is 1-0 on the year.
Brock Mayer was credited with the loss in relief for Port Angeles. He pitched two and two third innings giving up six hits and three runs.

Edmonton has won the first two games of this series. They are 17-9 on the year. Port Angeles falls to 5-17. The Riverhawks are still mathematically in the hunt for the first half WCL North Division pennant.
