Riverhawks Make Significant Investment Into Ballpark Sound System
2026-03-20

Fans… we heard you (even if you couldn’t always hear us)!
As part of an ongoing effort to improve our game day experience, the Riverhawks organization has made a significant investment to update the sound system at RE/MAX Field. Improvements include a full replacement of all grandstand speakers, enhanced coverage in the bleachers, and new installations in areas that previously had no permanent audio.
“For the Riverhawks, it’s super important that we’re always striving to serve our fans better,” said Maddie Murdoch, the team’s Marketing and Game Day Director. “After every season we put out a fan survey to gather feedback on what we can be doing better, and a common point of feedback that we were getting after last season was that our audio system was just not up to par with what fans expect from us.”
For a team that prides itself on being fan-first, fun first, an upgrade was not only overdue, but necessary.
“At a Riverhawks game we’re trying to create a party, we’re trying to create as much fun as we can, and obviously a sound system is a big piece of that. Music, video clips, our in-game hosts, all of that is super important for the show that we put on for our fans.”
Since opening its doors to fans in 1995, it was obvious that the speakers in RE/MAX Field were one component that went largely untouched. Areas like the Delta Valley Patio, which was once a grass berm, are getting speakers installed for the very first time.
“The party zones both have a brand new speaker system with large format stadium horns, so when you’re having a party there, you’re having a PARTY there,” said Mark Planche of Allstar Show Industries. “The grandstands system is a brand new, JBL 12-inch large format stadium horn.”
With the new system in place, every fan will get to fully experience the fun of a Riverhawks party.
“Not every guest had the same experience, and that was kind of our goal. It doesn't matter where you’re sitting, you’re gonna get the same style and coverage with the new sound system.”
These improvements show the team’s commitment to RE/MAX Field and Edmonton’s river valley, and we can’t wait to welcome you back in less than two months!
“Our audio system is really one of our biggest connections to fans during a Riverhawks game, and this summer we’re super excited to be able to connect more with our fans, and to really engage them with all of the fun we have at the ballpark,” said Murdoch. “We’re excited for them to see the improvements that we’ve made!”
Single-game tickets for the 2026 season will go on sale next week. Keep an eye out on our socials and website for more details soon!
