Dance Parties, Wrestling, Pride, Redheads, and Halloween!

June 17th-June 22nd Is Set to Be a Party!
Opening Week for the Edmonton Riverhawks was an absolute blast, and boy, does it ever feel good to be back!
As we get ready for another action-packed homestand in the beautiful river valley, with six games of fun featuring everything from wrestlers and Taylor Swift tributes to redheads and fire jugglers, we’re taking a quick look back at some of the highlights from a memorable Opening Week:
- We kicked off the season by honouring the land we play on, with players wearing Every Child Matters jerseys and an amazing Indian Relay Race demonstration by the River Cree Youth Indian Relay Team
- We hosted a field trip party to remember, welcoming a crowd of 8,500, including over 7,000 elementary students from Edmonton and the surrounding area!
- Saturday night brought the unveiling of our 2025 alternate identity: the Green Onion Cakes! We played in front of a packed house for Sasky Night and sold out of our Green Onion Cake tees before the first pitch (don’t worry, more are on the way!). The game? An 18-inning marathon packed with surprises, two games in one, chickens on the field, a proposal in the stands, and nonstop fun!
- To cap it off, Sunday was all about the four-legged fans with Paws in the Park, presented by Homes Alive Pets! Dogs and cats of all sizes joined the party, our bat dog Iceman had his big moment, and we gave away hundreds of limited-edition Iceman the Doggleheads to lucky fans!
Looking ahead, we’ve got even more fun planned at the ballpark starting on Tuesday night!
Tuesday, June 17th
Life’s A Beach, Aloha Night!
The homestand kicks off with a 9-Inning Staycation! Performances by Ho’omaka Hanu A Ke Aloha Dance Society, limbo contests, hula dancing, beach jams, a specialty Tropical bevvy's and more!
We’re also celebrating the heart of our community: educators! Teachers and educational staff who show their ATA card at the box office will get 50% off!
Wednesday, June 4th
Running of the Gingers!
Who says St. Patty’s Day only happens once a year?
Redheads get 50% off tickets at the box office, but are encouraged to join our Run of the Gingers on the field!
Enjoy pre-game hurling with the Irish Wolftones, jigging from the Matterin School of Dance, and yes... plenty of green beer.
It’s also Winning Wednesday! We guarantee the Riverhawks will come away with a win, or else every fan in attendance receives a free bleacher ticket voucher to the game the next night!
Thursday, June 19th
Girls Pop Dance Party!
We’re shining a spotlight on girls in the local performing arts scene, from K-pop dance performances to baton twirling, all during a night at the ballpark set to the sounds of Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and other pop favs!
Stick around after the game for an on-field dance party with the Girls Club DJs!
It’s also our second Thirsty Thursday of the season! Kick back with $5, 12oz draft beers all night long.
Friday, June 20th
Dark at the Park with Fort Edmonton Park
We’re teaming up with our friends at Fort Edmonton Park to bring a little Halloween magic to RE/MAX Field! Meet some spooky characters, and if you're a kid under 12 in costume, you get in FREE at the box office!
After the game, the fun keeps going with a fiery double feature: a magic fire-juggling show from Mr. Skinny and a Friday Night Fireworks display presented by Uncle John’s Fireworks!
Saturday, June 21st
Love Wins: Pride Night! Presented by Smith Thompson Law
We love love and we’re proud to celebrate Pride Month at the ballpark!
We’re excited to welcome our friends from Pride Tape, along with show-stopping performances by the Party Queen drag performers. After the final pitch, the party moves to the field for a Pride Dance Party you won’t want to miss.
The fan-favorite rainbow pinstripe jerseys are back and you can bid on a player-worn jersey in our auction, with portions of proceeds going to support the important work of Pride Tape!
Sunday, June 22nd
Baseball and Body Slams! Presented by Boston Pizza
Get ready to rumble! The high-flying stars of Top Talent Wrestling are taking over the ballpark. After the game, we’re rolling out the wrestling ring right on the field for an action-packed showdown!
It’s also Boston Pizza Prize Day, so if you’re a BP’s fan... this is your moment.
Baseball, body slams, and Bandera Bread? Count us in!
The boys are rollin’ back into Edmonton with a 7–5 record and a little revenge on their minds as they gear up to face the WCL North’s top team, the Bellingham Bells.
First pitch on Tuesday night at 7:05 PM. Grab your seats now at tickets.gohawks.ca and don’t miss a moment of all the fun in store!
