Leads Hawks to Big Win on the Road!

Riverhawks left-hander David Sheppard has been named the West Coast League Pitcher of the Week!

The sophomore out of Utah Tech University has been a force on the mound for Edmonton this season. Through his first three starts with the Riverhawks, Sheppard has picked up three wins while racking up 22 strikeouts and posting a 2.79 ERA across more than 19 innings pitched.

The highlight of Sheppard's season came on June 18 against the North Division powerhouse Wenatchee AppleSox. Facing one of the league's top teams on the road, the lefty delivered a dominant performance when the Riverhawks needed it most.

The Goodyear, Arizona native spun seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six batters. His stellar start helped the Hawks earn a big win and avoid a series sweep in Washington.

The Riverhawks currently sit sixth in the North Division and are set to return home for a big homestand at RE/MAX Field beginning Friday, June 26.
