The Riverhawks Unveil the Three Winners of the Summer Artist Series Contest!

The Edmonton Riverhawks are thrilled to announce the three winners of our Summer Artist Series Contest! After reaching out to the local community for their creative input in designing new merchandise, we are overwhelmed by the incredible response of over 30 t-shirt submissions from fans across the capital region and beyond.

With the support of local artist Mike Lundy, the Riverhawks judging committee, along with the enthusiastic Riverhawks fans on Instagram, voted for the three winning designs showcased below! Each of these designs will be available for purchase in the Hawk Shop this summer at one of the Riverhawk's 9-game homestands.

Design one was brought to life by Chloe Duxbury, a talented graphic designer based in Edmonton. Chloe's boyfriend, Shaun Atamanchuk, was the first pitcher to ever take the mound for the Riverhawks. The years of cheering him on from the stands at RE/MAX played a vital role in her creative vision. “My design was inspired by the captivating view from the stands, particularly the iconic landmarks visible beyond the outfield: the North Saskatchewan River, Rossdale Power Plant, and Walterdale Bridge. These elements not only offer a stunning backdrop to the game but also hold significant cultural and historical importance for Edmontonians.” Atamanchuk has now begun his professional career in Quebec, but Chloe maintains that the Riverhawks will always hold a special place in her heart. Chloe's t-shirt will be on sale during our first homestand of the season from June 7th to June 16th.


Design number two comes from Phylix Jeon, a talented 16-year-old student from Victoria School of the Arts! Phylix has dreams of one-day attending art school in Korea and loves to infuse cartoon-style artwork into their designs. They put a unique twist on the iconic hawk mascot that fans have come to know and love! Their submission got a stamp of approval from the Riverhawks faithful, winning our fan vote that was hosted on the Riverhawks Instagram channel! Phylix's t-shirt will be on sale during our second homestand of the season from June 25th to July 7th.


Design three was dreamt up by Mark Cramer, a local dad of two young baseball players! Drawing inspiration from the lively hot dog vendors he encountered at a Seattle Mariners game, Mark crafted his “Dingers, Drinks, and Dogs” t-shirt! His design encapsulates the laid-back and fun atmosphere that fans enjoy at the Riverhawks ballpark, complete with the iconic drink bat! Mark expresses his hope that his t-shirt design captures the essence of what the Riverhawks have created: "Family, Friends, and Fun!" His t-shirt will be available for purchase during the last homestand of the season, from July 19th to July 28th.
