    Social Media Manager

    The Edmonton Riverhawks are all about throwing epic parties for our fans and keeping the fun rolling on social media! With nearly 150,000 fans at our games in 2025 and 45,000 followers across our platforms, we’re seeking a creative and hardworking Social Media Manager to join our staff for the 2026 season.

    As the Social Media Manager, you will help lead the content and digital marketing strategy, develop creative content through the use of videos, graphics and writing, and manage the content publishing platforms across social media, and other marketing avenues.


    What You’ll Be Doing:


    Social Media Management

    • Serve as the witty and approachable digital voice of the Riverhawks by engaging with fans through comments, messages, trends, and timely interactions
    • Track and analyze performance metrics including engagement, reach, growth, and video performance across platforms Identify trends, cultural moments, and platform shifts to inform future content strategies
    • Keep up to date on Riverhawks results, announcements, and player stories, being ready to support with related social media content.
    • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, tone, and voice

    Content Creation

    • Plan, create, schedule, and publish daily content including live event coverage, short-form video, behind-the-scenes access, promotions, theme nights, seasonal experiences, and community initiatives
    • Design social media graphics for socials, advertisements, newsletters, and web
    • Collaborate with internal teams, players, and partners to develop creative and engaging content.


    Digital Advertising

    • Help plan, create, and execute paid digital advertising campaigns and strategies on social media channels.
    • Track and analyze performance metrics for paid digital advertising.

    Leadership & Development

    • Assign roles and responsibilities for other staff members and interns to ensure full coverage of action, fan engagement, and key moments across the stadium
    • Help develop interns’ skills in content creation, video capture, editing, and
      live-event storytelling
    • Review and curate content created by other team members to ensure quality, consistency, and brand alignment

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Above all, you’re FUN and CREATIVE!
    • 1–2 years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications in a professional organization.
    • Strong understanding of major social platforms, including trends, short-form video formats and platform-specific best practices
    • Experience with video and photo editing for social media (CapCut, Adobe, Final Cut, Lightroom, etc.)
    • Graphic design skills and experience creating social graphics (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools)
    • Familiarity with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras is a plus
    • Experience covering live events is a plus
    • Clear writing skills with strong attention to detail
    • A basic understanding of baseball knowledge is a plus
    • Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, continually changing environment
    • Must be available to work all 27 regular season Riverhawks games, including evenings and weekends as required for games and events
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    Job Description:

    • Position Type: Full-Time Seasonal
      • Based on a 40-hour work week, though hours will vary throughout the
        summer depending on the Riverhawks schedule. This role will include evenings and weekends, with some weeks exceeding 40 hours and others requiring fewer hours.
    • Start Date: April 7th, 2026
    • End Date: August 24th, 2026
    • Reports to: Marketing and Game Day Director
