If you’re an energetic and creative university student studying communications, marketing, or something related, we want you to join our team for the 2026 season!
The Riverhawks are all about throwing epic parties for our fans and keeping the fun rolling on social media! With nearly 150,000+ fans at our games in 2025 and 45,000 followers across our platforms, we’re looking for a hardworking student to help us take our online presence to new heights as a Social Media & Marketing Intern!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Social Media: Help us post across all Riverhawks platforms before, during, and after games, as well as for other community events.
- Content Creation: Create fun and on-brand content for Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Promote Events: Use social media to get the word out about Riverhawks games, theme nights, and ticket sales.
- Grow Our Reach: Help grow our following on all platforms and engage with fans.
- Graphics & Design: Assist with creating graphics for social media, website updates, and the newsletter as needed.
- Stay in the Game: Keep up to date on Riverhawks results, announcements, and player stories, being ready to support with related social media content.
- Creative Input: Be a part of the brainstorming and creative process for new ideas.
- Game Day & Events: Assist with any other tasks related to game days or community events.
What We’re Looking For:
- You get social media, Instagram, TikTok, X, and beyond, and know what's trending
- You’re creative and love brainstorming fresh, exciting, and out-of-the-box ideas.
- You have experience with graphic design tools like Photoshop, Canva, or similar programs.
- You have experience with video editing, especially short-form content like TikToks and Reels.
- Basic knowledge of baseball is an asset!
- You’re all about collaboration with your peers and bringing new ideas to life.
- You can represent the Riverhawks brand with positivity and professionalism, whether you’re online, at the stadium, or in the community.
- Availability for all 27 home games during the 2025 season is a must!
- You can provide a portfolio of previous social media work.
Internship Details:
- Location: We’re looking for a student based in the Metro Edmonton area, as this role primarily involves work at RE/MAX Field.
- Start Date: Early-Mid May (with preparation for the upcoming season).
- End Date: Early August (at the end of the baseball season).
- Hours: Hours will vary throughout the summer, changing weekly based on the baseball schedule, and will include evenings and weekends.
- Compensation: This internship offers the chance to earn college or university credit and includes a summer honorarium.
